Meet Our Instructors 

	David J. O'Brien, CPA David is founder and President of Real World Training. He is an award-winning speaker and has written more than 20 books on how to best use QuickBooks. He has been teaching QuickBooks since 1994 and has taught over 25,000 students! When not teaching QuickBooks, David spends much of his time watching Dora the Explorer and Nemo with his 3-year old daughter, Isabella, and his lovely wife, Lisa-Adelle. David lives in Dallas, Texas.
	Brad White Brad is Chief Operations Officer of Real World Training. He has Brad is Chief Operations Officer of Real World Training. He has consulted with thousands of QuickBooks users. Brad is a former small business owner with extensive real world experience. He uses this experience to help students get the most out of QuickBooks.  Brad spends much of his time riding bicycles with his 5-year old twin girls, Ashley and Avery, and his 3-year old son, Aiden. 	Trevor Matheson Trevor is the Vice President of Product Development for Real World Training. • What time does the Mastering QuickBooks class start and end? Do we get a lunch break?
  Registration for the QuickBooks class begins at 8:00am. The course itself begins at 8:30am. There will be a morning break and an afternoon break of 10 minutes each. Lunch is on your own from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. The seminar ends at 4:00. After that, your instructor will stay to answer any other questions you may have.

• Are your live QuickBooks classes hands-on?
  No...it's better than hands-on! We do the typing...and you do the learning!
  Your time is money. So, to cover as much material as we do, the QuickBooks class has to move along at a good pace. When everyone has a computer, the QuickBooks class can only move as fast as the slowest typist. Our method ensures that you'll learn the maximum amount of material with the smallest investment of time. The instructor's computer image is shown on a large screen. Each student receives detailed workbooks showing the screens the instructor uses. The student follows along in the workbook.
  
  
  We've taught our Mastering QuickBooks training class both ways...with each student receiving a computer (hands-on) and without using computers. We learned a couple of things. First, the QuickBooks course lasts about 10 days when each student receives a computer! It takes five times longer to cover the same material. Second, we found that there was never enough time to answer everyone's questions. Who should attend Mastering QuickBooks?

• Which version of QuickBooks do you teach in your QuickBooks classes?
  We always teach the most current version of the software. If you do not have the latest version, do not worry. The instructor will point out the differences between the current version and the version you are using. The older versions work in the same basic fashion...so the techniques you learn will not be wasted.
• I use QuickBooks Pro. Will the Mastering QuickBooks seminar benefit me?
  We use QuickBooks Premier in the QuickBooks course. This is basically the same software as QuickBooks Pro with a few extra features added. Your instructor will point out the differences. 98% of what you learn applies to QuickBooks Pro.
• I use QuickBooks Premier. Is the Mastering QuickBooks class fight for me?

  A few of our students in our live QuickBooks classes use the QuickBooks for the Macintosh. However, the differences between the Macintosh version of QuickBooks and the Windows version of QuickBooks are significant. • I use QuickBooks Point of Sale software Edition. Should I attend your QuickBooks class?
  We don't cover Point of Sale in the live QuickBooks class. However, as a Point of Sale user, you still use the QuickBooks accounting software for many of your accounting tasks.   Our class size varies. They average about 30 students each.

• What do I need to bring to the QuickBooks training class?
  Just bring a pen or pencil and some paper for taking notes. Hotel meeting rooms are typically cool, so you might want to bring a sweater or light jacket.
• Do I need to bring my laptop to the QuickBooks class?
  It is not necessary to bring a laptop. The class moves too quickly to follow along individually. However, some students do bring laptops so they can immediately apply what they learn to their own company data file.
• What do I receive when I attend the Mastering QuickBooks seminar?
  You receive a detailed reference guide/workbook for each day of the QuickBooks class you attend. This workbook includes the steps for completing everything we teach in the seminar. After you graduate from the course on Day 2, you receive a nice certificate that indicates you completed the QuickBooks class.
• Can I bring a recording device to the QuickBooks training?
  We do not allow recording devices in the QuickBooks training class.
• Do we get a lunch break?
  Yes. Lunch is from noon to 1pm.
• Can I receive the workbooks before the QuickBooks class?
  No. Our workbooks contain proprietary information and are distributed only at our live QuickBooks classes.
• What can I do to get ready for the QuickBooks course?
  No formal preparation is needed. You might find it useful to start making a list of questions to ask the instructor. Bring the list to the QuickBooks course. Our instructors stay as late as is needed to make sure all of your questions are answered. Or, you might be having trouble with certain reports or forms. Print a few examples and the instructor will be happy to review the specific issues.
• Should I attend the QuickBooks training seminar AND buy the QuickBooks training products?
  Students that attend the QuickBooks class often purchase the training products so they can go back and refresh much of what they learned. Plus, you will receive a significant discount on the products if you attend the live QuickBooks class.
• Do I receive a discount for purchasing QuickBooks training products at the class?
  Yes. You can save up to 65% by purchasing our QuickBooks training products at the class.
• Can I purchase the workbooks you provide at the QuickBooks course without attending the class?
  We reserve our seminar workbooks exclusively for students who attend our QuickBooks class.
• Is there enough time at the QuickBooks training class for questions?
  There is as much time for questions as you need! After each chapter, we pause until all questions are answered for that chapter. Then, we have an optional question and answer session at the end of the day. We do not leave until each and every one of your questions is answered!
• Are your instructors qualified to instruct me in QuickBooks?
  We hire only the best and brightest as instructors. We have an exhaustive instructor selection process that ensures instructors with accounting knowledge, QuickBooks product knowledge, and small business ownership and consulting experience. Plus, we make sure our instructors have superior speaking skills. In fact, most of our instructors have won numerous public speaking awards. • Can I attend the QuickBooks course in lieu of working with my CPA?
  No. The purpose of our QuickBooks classes is to teach you how to use QuickBooks effectively in your business. This information is no substitute for the advice of your own CPA. If you need any financial or tax advice, consult your CPA or financial advisor. If you want to learn QuickBooks, come to our QuickBooks class.
• What is a CPE credit?
  CPE stands for Continuing Professional Education. Many professionals are required to take a certain number of hours of educational instruction per year to maintain their designation (such as C.P.A., C.F.P, C.F.A). Our courses qualify for CPE credit.
• Do I receive CPE credits for attending the QuickBooks seminar?
  You will receive 14 hours of CPE credits for attending both days of Mastering QuickBooks. If you attend one day of the QuickBooks class, you will receive 7 hours of CPE credit. Before you leave the seminar, the instructor will provide you with the CPE certificate. Real World Training is registered with NASBA.
