If you are an experienced and confident QuickBooks user, then you can prove your QuickBooks skills and knowledge by taking an online, proctored exam (at an authorized Certiport testing center). Please note that the exam is challenging, and we only recommend this option for very experienced QuickBooks users. During the exam, you won't have access to QuickBooks or any notes.

How it Works
The Exam Only option is designed to certify that you have an excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks. This option is only recommended for experienced and confident QuickBooks Users. Here's how it works:
Step 1-View the topics you are expected to know
Click the "Topics" tab to view the material that is tested during the exam. If you feel that you would benefit from more preparation, then select the "Live Class + Exam" or "Self Paced Class + Exam" link in the top left corner under "Quick Navigation".
Step 2-Complete a proctored exam at a local testing center
Click "buy now" to connect to our partner Certiport where you can purchase a test voucher. On their site you can locate a testing center near you. Certiport has hundreds of testing centers across the U.S. However, if you live in a rural area or far from a metropolitan area with a testing center, you may have to drive up to 2 hours to take the test. The test voucher includes 1 retake in the event you don't pass the first time. When you pass the exam, Certiport will issue an electronic Intuit QuickBooks User Certificate to share with current or future employees.

A student should know:

A student should know:
- How to manage lists (customers, vendors, items, etc.). List management includes:

Items (8% of exam)
A student should know:
- How QuickBooks uses items to perform the necessary accounting entries
- The different types of items and when to use each type
- How to use items for different types of scenarios. These include companies that sell:
- Products for a specified price
- Services for a specified price

Sales (10% of exam)
A student should know:
- Who should be listed in the Customer Center
- How to navigate and use the Customer Center
- How to complete the workflow (from the sale to making the deposit) for:

- How QuickBooks uses the Undeposited Funds, Accounts Receivable, and checking accounts in the invoicing cycle

The Pro Advisor program is designed for accountants who have a strong background in QuickBooks and accounting and want to help multiple clients. The Intuit Certified QuickBooks User program is designed for people who use QuickBooks on a day to day basis and want to prove their knowledge to employers.

This certificate gives you an extra boost when looking for jobs. When you pass the Certification test, you are a certified QuickBooks user. This is a great credential to put on your resume, and it tells employers that you are competent in QuickBooks and understand how the software works. - Are there annual fees for certification?
No. The certification applies to the current version of QuickBooks. - Are there printed materials that go with certification?
When you click buy you will purchase an exam voucher from our partner Certiport. They will provide a practice test to help you prepare for the exam. With the live or self paced class you receive two comprehensive workbooks and 2 days of training in addition to the practice test to help you prepare.. - Which editions of QuickBooks does certification apply to?
The QuickBooks Certified User program is designed for QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise Solutions. Also, the certification applies to industry specific versions of Premier and Enterprise Solutions. - How long does it take to complete the certification training and take the exam?
The Mastering QuickBooks class is two full days of training. If you are brand new to QuickBooks we recommend reviewing your materials before taking the exam. Many students also review the training on DVD to reinforce what they've learned and to review concepts they may not have understood completely during the class (this depends on the specific student).
The exam is 50 multiple choice questions and you have 50 minutes to complete. - How long after receiving the test link do I have to complete the exam?
You have 90 days from the date of your purchase to complete the certification exam. - Once I start the exam, do I have to complete it in one setting?
The exam is proctored at a testing center. After the testing center verifies your identity, and you begin the test, you must finish it. There are no checkpoints where you can stop and come back later. - How many times can I take the test?
Your test voucher includes 1 free take over. (2 opportunities). - I just attended a class and I am ready to take the test. When will I receive instructions?
We will email you testing instructions within 5 days of you completing the class. - What is a passing score for the exam?
You do not have to attain a 100% score. The pass rate is determined by a few factors including how you did within each topic area of the exam. - Which version of QuickBooks should I know?
The test applies to the most current version of the software.
